Spookemon Writing Contest 2019

Hello, fellow ghost-type enthusiasts! We’re so glad you’re considering joining us for our FIRST EVER writing contest!

You could write anything you like! Such as an oddball adventure about our trainers or Pokemon, a backstory to one of our side characters (who is the Merepherd really?), or it could be something unrelated about one of your favorite ghost-type Pokemon!

GENERAL INFO AND RULES

Written format:

  • We ask that you contain your enthusiasm to one entry below 2000 words

  • Single spaced

  • Keep font size between 12 and 18

Adding illustrations is permitted, but the entry will be judged on your story alone.

Formats we'll accept are Word Doc, Google Doc, or PDFs. Please ask about other possible formats before entering.


There will be a first place winner, runner up, and honorable mention.

All entries will be added to our Spookemon Writing Contest 2019 folder on Google Drive throughout the month as we receive them. All entrants will remain secret until after the contest is over to keep voting unbiased. Likewise, we ask that you refrain from revealing which entry is yours (or anyone else’s) until after the reveal of winners on October 31. This includes refraining from posting your entries on our Discord or other social media until the contest is over. Anyone who does not follow this rule will be automatically disqualified.

Submissions must be in by midnight on Oct. 26. Anything after that can still be submitted, but will not be accepted for voting.

Voting will last Oct. 27-30.

HOW TO ENTER

All entries must be submitted via email to: PokemonRolloutx4@gmail.com

There is no age restriction, HOWEVER please keep our general guidelines in mind in both your entries and comments (any obscene or defamatory behavior not specified in the below will be assessed by the admin team on a case-by-case basis):

  • No politics/religion

  • No telling people to kill or harm themselves

  • No spam or harassment (constantly asking for the same thing repeatedly)

  • No personal attacks on users/moderators/admins

  • No content which may be considered offensive, pornographic, or otherwise unsuitable (no NSFW stuff)

  • *No advertising other websites/discord server/youtube channel/Twitch Channel/Merch Store without permission from the moderators
